Uomini in Strada, these crazy road signs.

Have you ever noticed while travelling in Italy these crazy english translations they give foreigners as a form direction? Like at the Autogrill, they’ve had some of my favorites. “caution” for a slippery wet floor translates to “take care”, I walk past it with a smile saying, “Take it easy!”

On my most recent trip I kept reading this very funny sign.  Are you all aware that the Padana Valley has plenty of “Men on the Road”!  Well that’s what the digital road  signs were flashing. “Uomini in Strada” followed by “Men on the Road”. Congrats to Imola, the only town that translated it correctly as “Men at Work”.

So,  all you single ladies need to hop in your cars and head to the Padana Valley where there’s men everywhere – especially on the road!!!

(wanted to take a pic, but my husband drives too fast!)

  1. Someone else has noticed them, at last! I chuckle every time I drive past one and keep expecting to see Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty in orange suits!
